VForce - Review and Top Speed
#1
Let me start out by saying that I have ridden every sport quad with the exception of the Predator. I have owned a 250EX, 250R & Z400. I have a Cannibal, 400ex, Z400, and VForce in my garage. The Cannibal is mine and the VForce is for the wife! We bought the VForce 2 weeks ago and I have put about 7hrs of fairly hard riding on the machine.
Overall for a 500LB machine it handles pretty well. The power is very smooth which makes it easy to ride in the woods. I ride in very rough terrain with plenty of jumps and this machine can handle most of it as well as the Z400 but nowhere near the cannondale in stock trim. It makes up for much of this with a smooth powerband and amazing torque.
Things I need to find solutions to inorder to make the KFX700 a competitive machine
1. Better suspension - The VForce is a handfull in the rough stuff (very bouncy) *scary on a 500lb machine!! Set of PEP shocks will help here I'm sure
2. Bumpsteer - Lot's of bumpsteer - similar to the DS650 in my opinion. Steering stabilizer may help, any ideas? I have WER on my Cannibal and it is pretty good.
3. Heat - The motor gets extremely hot quickly and has even burned my wifes leg through here jeans on the left side of motor. Although this could be good in the winter time here in NY!!
4. Castor/Camber - Can't get used to the V-Shape of the front tires. This may have something to do with the A-Arm geometry. I'm used to setting mine so they bow in not out like the V. This may be causing some of the bumpsteer too!! Since I can't change castor/camber without aftermarket a-arms we probably won't know the answer to this until someone gets ahold of a pair.
I appreciate any input on making this machine truly competetive as it looks really mean and I love the airplane sound when accelerating!!!

Wow thats great info. How does acceleration compare between the quads you own??? I've heard the V is a rocket off the line. Have you taken these quads to the dunes, and if so, how do they compare??? Thanks a lot and heep us posted!

I wish I had some dunes around here!! Mostly hardpack here and we have done some short drag races on dirt and have had mixed results at 150'. I don't want to post these results until we get some consistency. I will say the VForce has a great holeshot and can hold it's own in the 150' race. I love not having to worry about slipping the clutch and shifting.

As far as the heat goes, try Engine Ice by cycle logic, it really help's lower the engine temp, also some are helping the bumpsteer and handling by toeing the front end more, some like it set on 0, some like it toe'd in about 1/8th inch........
