raptor vs. KFX700
#2
you'll get lots of different replys to this..
I have been racing my friend on a 150 yard run (many...many...many times).....he has a limited Raptor (blue flame) and it's stock v/s my stock V-Force
We've raced on different surfaces....during many different weather conditions / times of day.
I must say that it's been close every time. If I get a great start I believe I usually win by a bike length..
He will catch up when he hits third gear...and If I don't have a good lead from the hole-shot...he can pass me and win by a bike length.
They are very close....and it really depends on the riders and the start. (I feel we are both good riders...so it really depends on the start we get) If the Force does not get an absolutly good start....the Raptor will catch it by third gear .....period

I think Xtremest has made the most honest and correct statement about racing a raptor.. The only person I have raced is a piped banshee, and if I get a good start off the line, I can beat him by a lil more than a bike length, but if we both get a good start, its very close. And I did notice at the end of the race, he was starting to gain on me in top gear. I dont think the V has the top speed of them.

If you get a good start on the V-Force, a raptor will not touch you through 300 ft. However, they are slightly faster on top. I have raced two raptors, one stock and one piped. I actually beat the piped raptor worse. I ran the stock raptor through about 1/8 mile and he pulled right beside me and kept pulling a little at the end of the 1/8. I called kawi dealer and asked what was up with top end. They said the factory timing was retarded big time. Just another way to milk a few hundred from us with a new cdi The raptor honestly is slightly faster on top end. The biggest difference in the two quads was my friends stock raptor was well broken in, while my force really hasn't been opened up many times. I will try him again in a week or so to see if anything has changed. We have a local dirt atv drag strip. They only run 200 ft. there. V-Force should dominate.
