OPT-- stator shield for 50 ??
OPT,
Did you ever come up with a way to protect the stators on the Predator 50's ? Mud, dirt, etc keeps getting there and burning up stators. I'm scared to seal off the opening, due to cooling, but wondered if you ever found a viable solution ?

Only way they solved this was going to the 4 strokes in 2007. Yes if you block the fan/stator cover opening,stators will over heat.Just a poor design that allows dirt and water in the flywheel/stator area. Guess the engineers didn't realize kids like to ride through water too.Only way to fix this is to have a sealed cover with an air inlet and exhaust duct same as what the clutches have.Why they didn't change this over the 5 year period 2001-2006 is beyond me.
