Man does this bring back memories!!! I did let my sons race at the local fair that year. And to everones surprise, the Badger grabed the holeshot by far, over some very highly build LT's. My son had it up on the back tires going into the first turn. You know, I never did ask him how he done it because I could just see the tranny blowing chunks everywhere and really didn't want to know. He held the lead going into the last lap. The 2nd place kid (also my son on our LT) bumped him going into turn 1 and got him out of his groove. 2nd and 3rd place went around on the inside. Our LT looked like it would win the class until it died at turn 4. (junk in the carb was later found to be the problem) All in all, it was a great time and they held off some very good competion. There was a KX80 powered Blaster that eventually won the overall class. Nothing there could touch it, including the blasters.
We have since then, moved on to bigger, and I will say, much better quads. I havn't regretted it for one second. But I do realize, you have to start somewhere. Have fun and thanks for the memories!!!
