Default pred 90-no spark

i have a 03 pred 90 with no spark- was running fine- stoped to do a plug check and then no spark. I have gone over every wire and plug - put electrical grease at every plug but no spark. unhooked the kill circuit - still no spark- how do you check the coil-ohm-etc and then the CDI box? i'm not that great with electrical but i what to isolate the problem- went off warranty 7/1/03-uh.
thanks

Hunt,

We had the exact same problem with our 90. We figured it was the CDI since everything else had been tested and seemed ok. We called Billy (WRH Racing) who said it was more likely the stator but sent us a CDI, stator & coil - just to be on the safe side so our son wouldn't miss his next race. Turns out he was right - CDI was fine but the stator was shot. Give him a call - I'm sure he can help you out. Good luck.

i found out what was wrong with the pred. sort of. I a friend that works on polaris's all the time and his scramy 90 did the same thing this weekend. Went to the dealer and got a copy of the wiring diagram and found out that there are around 6 to 7 ground points on this bike. The dealer said the main problems he has seen is for one of the grounds to have build up on it or trash on the pick up point on the flywheel. On both our bikes we cleaned all ground points and pickup points and then both bike ran great - not have any problems know. The dealer told us that if one ground has a problem then he has seen it kill the system and give you bad test readings when checking. this bike is way over wired and there is already headlight wiring in place for up to 25 watts. i was thinking about putting one 25 watt driving light on the bike somewhere and then put a marine grade switch one for on/off.
