yfz450 & GG450 side by side pics and vid
#1
A guy bought a GG450 yesterday and his neighbor already had a yfz from a couple weeks ago. They rode for a few minutes the night he got it and he sent me pics.
You can see them here
He also said they would be racing this weekend and he will try to video it and I will post it to the site.
Should be interesting to see what happens if he gets to video it.
If anyone is interested you can check the site after the weekend hopefully

Yes from what I understand. It already comes with an anti vibe steering stem but the new ones have had some adjustment to fix that. The guys who have them now have just had to take out the spacer and make a minor adjustment supposedly.
Also when you add the more narrow a-arms from world class racing it levels out the angle and lowers them by about 11/2 inches more without losing any travel. That helps the most I think. Tha current a-arms arent the best design it doesnt seem. They arent at the proper angle.
Mickey got the new a-arms yesterday they designed for it from world class racing and if they are right he will have 11" of travel in the front and 12" in the rear. He is pretty hyped about that.
Will add new pics of Chads quad when I get them.

Oh Yeah....I changed my username. I am not big on the GasGas name either so now I am referring to them as the WILD quads since they are actually the Wild300 and the Wild450.
Sounds better I think.

in the pics, it looks like the Gas Gas has had the front end lowered, did they just change the preload? my 300 has the same A-arm & shock setup & it stands pretty tall.
i took my 300 to a track for the first time last week for practice, one guy had a brand new YFZ there too. he races a whole lot more & was in way better shape than me so it was obvious it was the rider not the bike... i'm in bad shape & that track is tough.
the A-arms from world class narrow the front for XC riding/racing... they don't make a caster angle correcting or caster adjustable upper arm set in stock width yet do they? does anyone?

I can tell you that with the World Class a-arms they are not adjustable. They dont need to be they say. The reason the others are adjustable is bacause the a-arms usually aren't a precise match. The World Class a-arms are exact and symmetrical so there is no need for adjustment. I will double check this but this is what I think they said.
Their standard A-Arm comes with Oil-Lite Bronze Bushings for extra long life, plus grease jerks for flushing out sand, grit and water etc, that would ordinarily destroy any A-Arm bushings.
Their shock mounts are specially designed to distribute the pressure points further away from the shock itself. This allows longer shock life and the strongest shock mount in the world.
As for the pics, the guy had his suspension tuned like mickeys already he said which gives him 11" travel. Once he gets the new a-arms like Mickey is testing it will be set up just like Mickeys. He isnt doing anything to the motor or pipe or anything else as there is no need to.
Like he said they are set up to make any width to match the Wild quads perfectly.

I just broke in the lattest version of the 300 gasser and I want to say that the sterring is fixed. No shims in the sterring clamp. It may be very slightly heavy but not anything you feel in motion. If you ride hard and like the scream of a 2 stroke this is the bike to have. I think its a better choice of the two.

I should be getting a test ride on a 300 this Sunday.I will give a rundown on how I think it stands up to the Cannondale and 400ex.All I ride is mx so it should be a fun ride. There is a good posability I will be racing it for awhile.

From my understanding...the first thing that needs to be done is to rejet the 300. It comes to rich from the factory and once you do that they are screamers. I think LDR makes a jet kit someone told me about that they used.
