Gas-Gas 300 ???

good to see another GG rider on here, we've been pretty quiet.... maybe it's beacuse we don't have huge problems or have to modify the heck out of our ride to get the performance level we need... more of us take parts off... hmmmm.
the first MX race i took mine to i nailed the first holeshot of the day over a cannondale & YFZ. they took me b/c of rider skill shortly after in the race. (i'm a novice & chicken to hit the big jumps still)
my fist GP race i finished dead last after working 9 hours & pulling an all-nighter to get there(but still ahead of the DNF's), but my second one(the next day), i took 1st in the amature class... the quad was right at home on that track.
on setup: i've been bottoming the rear shock on the MX track, i've put about 8 clicks more on the compression damping but haven't had a chance to try it again... should i crank in some more preload too?

well we are still wroking on the shocks, what ones do you have in the front, i have the newer addiction small body, but the valving is defintly off, need to get them revalved but is quite costly at $800 i'm contimplating getting the long travel axis for the extra 500, havent messed with my rear shock havent had a prob with it i have adjusted the rebound some but that just depends on rider style wieght and such, glad to hear you like your gas gas though the other guy in Iowa i know that has a gas gas isnt impressed with the reliability factor hes hung up on the leaky gas tank thing but i love mine, and I have pulled a couple holeshots with it stock so can't wait till i get some mods

I have the newer edition (skinny) front shocks too. they feel a little stiff sprung, for the GP & XC stuff i turn the compression all the way soft & for MX i give it about 10 clicks to hard. seems to be OK... haven't messed with the rebound settings yet.

ya thats exactly what were running 10 clicks, I think its prob the best you can do without sending them in, but when i get on my buddies laeger t-pin long travel its like getting in a cadilac it had the long travel triple rate axis and they are nice.

we mess with them all the time but i think i got them set where i am going to keep them not sure on the setting usaully my dad aka mechanic does all that from what he sees on the track and then ask if i noticed anything but ya have messed with the preload, had a guy initial set my shocks up and he set them ayt the zero preload everyone is going with but i think we changed it from that

I ride mine mainly in the dunes, I took out 2 turns of preload in the front and it made a ton of differance. Its not harsh at all and im pushin 200#S. The dealer said they will looosen some on ther own put i think youll like the results if you loosen them up some.
