Default Paddles for Kasea 50

Has anyone tried paddles on a Kasea 50? We tested my sons new skyhawk 50 in the sand last weekend and it wants to bury the back wheels. I was thinking about picking up a set of paddles before we go to Glamis. I would like to know if you guys have had any luck with them. Thanks.

I don't have any experience with paddles, especially on a 50 cc unit. Within your posting, you mentioned that you went to the sands and your 50 kept digging itself too deep. While you were at sands, did you see other mini quads with paddles?

Since they make paddles for sand, it makes sence to me that paddles on your 50 (or any other cc of engine) would be better then no paddles at all. During your next visit to the sands, you may want to "snoop around" to see what others are using. Even if its adult Quads you're looking at. If you are running mixed trails, you may want to obtain paddles on a different set of back rims. When you visit a hard trail, all you need to do is swap back rims.

Hope this helps...

Skat-Trak makes a paddle that will fit the factory rim, Exciter 16/8/7, about $57 each tire. The problem with that is the factory rims are a bit hard to find and a little expensive. I put the Sand Gecko 18/9/8 on my sons 50 (Rocky Mountain) w aluminum rims about $130. They are a little big, but I have the power-up kit from Hetrick, and I think it will do well, looks cool too. You can find after market rims, aluminum and steel, East County Motorcross in El Cajon CA has them $30- $40 per rim. Hope this helps, as I have searched far and wide for the info as well.

How much improvement did you get from the power up kit?

Nothing mind blowing, but definitely an improvement overall. The pipe is a little loud, but sounds real cool (neighbor wants one just for the sound). Have not had it in the sand yet, but it really moves up and down the street. My brother-in-law's daughter has the same quad, stock with the skat trak paddles I mentioned, and I am interested in seeing how the two compare when we go out in two weeks. I have a feeling though, that my son's quad with the mods will leave her far behind.
