Need help reassemblying LT-A50!
#1
I took off the carb and air filter to clean them because the quad was cutting out at full throttle. The filter was nasty. The carb looked pretty clean. I checked the jets for any blockage and the bowl for any crap, but both seemed clear and clean. After I had reassembled the carb, I noticed a round, rubber, black sleave that had gone on top of the main jet. I then seen a small, black hose that is at one end attached to the rear of the engine behind the air box. Where does the other end go? I looked everywhere to see where it came from but can't find it. I started up the quad and it no longer is cutting out at full throttle, in fact it seems to have gained some power. Any help is appreciated and thanks. I disposed of (or lost) the little black rubber main jet extender a long time ago with no apparent ill results.
The little black hose is just a vent tube. It's routed right with the carb vent tubes.
I presume you pulled the intake restrictor?

Thanks for the info. I seen the intake restrictor and attempted to pull it out but it did not have any give so I left it for another day. Is there a trick to removing it or just plain old muscle? Again, thanks for the info about the black hose. I didn't have a clue where it had come from and I wasn't going to let my son ride it until I found out where it went. What I did: Torqued a screw into the restrictor, clamped vise grips on the screw for weight. Held the restrictor with a pair of pliers, and heated the elbow with a propane torch. Falls right out.
At that time, you should then remove the first pilot jet (they're 2 stacked in there).
