compared to a standARD banshee the gas gas is a lot faster but this is only after the gg is well run in, it takes the gg about 8 hrs before it fully losens up, it will also beat a piped banshee too. We haven`t run a standard gg up again heavily modded banshees, but we ran a motowest tuned gg against 440 and 450 banshees the gg had a slight edge. the only quad that seemed to have a slight edge was the 570rst 2 strokes but we were running a standard bore 300 with a little bit of cleaning done inside, we hope to get the new 375 kit soon its supposed to make a huge diffence.

Man, a 440 or 450 Shee would not be heavily modified?? And how did your GG have an edge on these bikes?? Was it traction issues? Was it the handling of these bikes? If you are going to bore and stroke a shee, then I am sure they were ported, had their timing advanced, along with high compression heads, along with a few other little odds and ends to make them a little faster....... I find it rather difficult to lavish the idea that a 440-450 CC monster could/would be taken by a 300cc minibike<-----just joking, but in comparison this is what it seems like.) Would it not be similar to comparing a KX 100 - a KX 250? I am just in wonder, by the way,. those GGs' are some really nice bikes!! I am only wanting to know how I should prepare myself when I run across one at the track w/my 370 LR.

Or last but not least, was it the engine package?

thanx for the info.... but thats really really hard to believe.. i single cylinder 300 vs. a twin 350 wit dual carbs and exhaust. the gas gas maybe a higher tech engine but a nothin stock can touch a modified banshee. no way will it beat a 440 or 450 shee. nothing that is lightly or even heavily modified quad will keep up with a 450 'shee. like rojo said they will also have mods that go with the 450 like domes and porting.

I have a stock 300 gassser. I spent a whole week in the dunes a month after I bought it. They rock. The first drag was with a stock Banchee, not reallly knowing what to expect, I left it in my roost. Next a piped, small mods Raptor and took him. With my new confendence I really got in to it, after many runs stock they will beat or hang with piped, ported Banshees. Factors are rider weight and ability. Stock for stock the new yfz 450 is very close with the start being the deciding factor. All that from a engine that will lug through tight trails to. I like my quad because not may people have them and when I do something that is surprizing people really take notice. I have since made some changes and can't wait to go back.

LOL, well really, I have I would be upset if I just purchased a new bike for that much $Chedda$ and it would not even be able to out run a stock Shee!! LOL

Hmmmm traction is not a factor here?? Is this still in da dunes?? Something I do not quite understand here in this room is the fact that when it comes to a drag race alotta people in here mention 'riders ability'..... To me a drag race does not require ability only motor.... My brother and I dragged my 370 LR and his 88' 250R..... results were the same over and over, switched bikes and the results were still the same..(Da Shee pulled him by a couple of links until about 4th, then in the upper echilon of the ol transmission, Da ol saying, 'there is no replacement for displacement' came into effect and she begin to walk away from him we shut them down at 5th though because I did not desire to waste my motor Da motor is not quite broken in yet..... However, I would (YET) not set that Shee on the MX track next to that R though.... Upon measuring the frame dimensions of the 2 and comparing this, dat ol Shee has a long ways to go as far as overall Geometry is concerned!! Dat R sits lower (but he does sport Elkas) and way wider He sports +2 up 1 on front, +offset rims all da way around !!!!! 50" all da way around...... Dat Shee even with a +4 dura blue on da back she is less than 47"!!!!! LOL, I do not even wanna talk about da front!! Perhaps in about 3 months or so da Shee will be ready and have all of her little geometry flaws fixed and so forth!! Oh yeah, da swing arm is 1" shorter on da Shee compared to da 88 R........... So therefore da Shee swingarm is da same in length as an 86 and/or 87 honda 250R......

BUT DA SHEE IS WAAAAAYYY HEAVIER dan dat R........ Not sure uf da weight, but she is heavier.... Upon riding the 2 down a flat surface, I live da comfort of da Shee....... She is alot more roomier than that lil 250.... He complained that the powerband was peaky..... I have not noticed her being peaky, she hits RIGHT OFF IDLE and REVS TO DA MOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Strong all the way through!! As soon as you twist your wrist on (this) Shee she is gone!! However, my dad rode it as well and both him and my Bro complained about my seat having too much armor all on it and being too dam slippery LMAO!!!!! My dad being over 50 now and so forth said he almost fell off of her when he grabbed a hand full of throttle (for about 2 seconds)!!!!!!

I LOVE MY MOTOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OOPS, I meant the other way around............................................ ...... Meaning that the Shee has an 1" longer swing-arm than the 88 R...........................

da rogo.
the question first asked was how did the gg compare to a banshee. we have ansewered that the gg isa quicker bike, whether the banshee is standard or `slightly tuned`. as for how you should prepare yourself when you run up again one on the track well run cause if you dont it will catch you then it will pass you and then you might believe me in the power of the `minibike`

Run??? ROTFLMAO.......... No on a serious note however, I am sure that these are extremely fast bikes..... Some people have gone so far as to say that they are wherew the old ever popular 250R would be have the Honda corporation woulda kept it into production and updating it every year.... However, on that same note I RIDE Da mighty 370 sporting longer rods from its motorcycle predecessor, sporting Pro-design cool heads w/17cc domes, a 4 degree timing advance, a nice MX port, Delta V-force reeds, trued crank, shift mods, blaster pistons, and a few other lil knacks and knacks here and there.... On da back end sits a nice +4 dura blue, w/hole shots all da way around....... I have much chasis work to do yet, but in a couple of months it should be ready------------->>AND WHEN IT IS READY I will go out hunting for a GG!!LOL ..... It is pretty much true that the only limit to speed and quickness as well as handling characteristics is the depth of ones' pocket book!!!! Then once a bike is modded out, it is then only up to the rider to keep his wits about himself and keep in the ol proverbial groove of things..... I only know that I cannot wait until my chasis is finished and I can finally take her out to the TRACK and kick up some roost!! I get psyched just thinking about it!!
I presume that you smoked all of Da Shees that were in your pics??
Was that asphalt ya'll were racing on?? What are some of the speeds that are hit on that track??
Dam, I bet you drop some $$$$$$$$$$$ on tires through out the year!!!! LOL
