Default 2000 LT80 vs. 2004 LT80

I can only seem to get specs on the 2004 Suzuki from Suzuki's website, but I'm looking at buying a 2000 model used. Does the 2000 model have a belt drive CVT transmission? Any major differences in the past 4 years? Any problem areas I should be particularly mindful of?

Thanks for your input!

Yes, all years a belt driven. Go to www.yamahaoftroy.com click on OEM parts finder and pick your model and year and their you will find every bolt and nut on the 2000.

They are the same. For 2004 they did add cast in supports in the cases, and there is a slight difference in the cylinder sleeve. But they might as well be considered the same.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll look at the used one over new. From all the different topics I've reviewed here, the only complaints seem to be the case (if you race and jump), and the belt rollers (?) get worn/dirty in the older ones.

The cylinders will work, old or new. All the same.
