Default Pred 90 throttle cable

Has anyone here had any problems with the throttle cable sticking on there Polaris's? my sons 3 week old 90 has done it twice now and is in the shop for a replacement. I thought that it would shut it off if the throttle hung open? It didn't on his and he thankfully had enough sence to reach up and flip the key before it got out of control. Also one of the tie rods went bad on the steering linkage already and he only has about 4 tanks through it.

No throttle cable sticking problems with our '03 Pred-90. In our cold weather, our front brake cables are always freezing up. With lots of gaseline antifreeze (injected down the top of the brake cables), they free up within 5 minutes. If you live in a "below freezing" climate, you may want to use gaseline antifreeze or car door deicer fluid as well. If in a warm climate, many people use WD-40 as lubrication fluid. Many say it helps - especially after they remove their factory oil injection system's 2nd spring.

Hope this helps...

If there was dirt there, hard to imagine how it got there. With cables, even a small grain of sand can make things very dangerous within a second.

Do you think they were BSing you??? Some repair shops don't know what a problem is, so they replace everything related to that area, then blame it on a part "they" feel may have been defective.

Regardless, sure hope they've cleared the problem and your throttle cable works properly now. Properly working throttle cable is sometimes more important that brakes.
