i assume it's the lower bearing, which means you're taking engine out of the frame and splitting the cases. I'd say it's a good time to do other bearings too. Look very closely to find the bearing numbers. instead of ordering from Suzuki, go to bearing shop for same bearings (i.e. NTN 6203 bearing), and save some $$.These exact same bearings are used in 100's of different applications.I'm referring to the types of bearings that look like a wheel or case bearing. If it's the upper bearing for piston wrist pin (which I thought would go first), you'd probably have to get that from a dealer. IF IT is the upper bearing, you're in luck (relatively speaking). you'll only need to rebuild top end (or you can check piston, rings and cylinder and maybe only need to do bearing and wrist pin plus a couple of gaskets), and you can do top end with engine in the frame. Which bearing is it?

a Suzuki factory manual is $40-50, but it walks through a lot of other areas during a total case split/teardown. if it saves you one mistake or other repair, it was worth it.

i'll leave mods and other stuff to the experts.

depends on whether it was the upper or lower bearing. if it's upper, it will take 1-2 hours. Take off the plastic cover around the cylinder/head. remove head, cylinder, circlips, wristpin, upper bearing. determine if you need rings only, or new piston and rebore. reassembly takes longer because circlips are tricky to get in, and so are rings. make sure they're both put in the correct way, and arrow on piston faces exhaust port. tourque head to proper spec.

I haven't split the case on LT80. I'd guess if all the planets were aligned and you had a good, organized, clean work area, it would take a long day to re & re, take it apart and reassemble, which is what you'll be in for if it's the lower crank bearing. the biggset delays i find are waiting for parts. my time is based on not being familiar with it and having to follow manual and being extra cautious. the next time you do it, you can probably take 1/2-1/3 off your time.

lots of others here know this area better than me, I'm just giving you an amatuer's perspective.
