Predator 2003

You probably need to change out the clutch springs and roller weights, too. A pipe will change the rpm range that the engine is maiking it's maximum power. the transmission (clutch springs and roller weights) will need to be adjusted so that it matches the rpm range of the engine.

What pipe are you running? I hear with the FMF there is no jetting needed...I think. If you have one of the race pipe's you will need to jet and go with the clutch mods(springs& rollers) and maybe an aftermarket air filter. Get in touch with WRHracing (Billy Holt)he is the man when it comes to the Predator. There are a few aother sites you might want to look into.

yes.. the air filter will help. With the air filter, you'll need to change the jetting fo the carb, too.
Think of it like this.. the engine needs to breath, digest and get rid of it. The more air/fuel you can pump out, the more that you can let in. A better intake (air filter like uni or K&N, larger carb, ported intake) system will let more air in.
Think of your engine as a pump that pumps air and fuel in and exhaust out.
