HP of performance kits?
Does anyone know what the horse power increase is with these engine kits for the 90's. I have thought about doing something to my sons eton viper 90 whether i just pipe it or go all the way with big bore cylinders, porting, pipes and all the goodies. The eton 90 stock I believe is around 7 hp does anyone know what each mod can increase the power output? Its alot of money to throw into a motor im debating doing the engine mods or just getting a blaster or something next for my son

I guess it really depends on the size of your kid and what you will be doing with the quad. Most guys that do up the mini's are restricted to the mini by the size of the kid, a racing class or a law concerning the age of the driver.Check out off-road.com/atv/kidscorner/ for some articles showing some dyno comparisons and other hop ups.You can really make these mini's rip but like you said its not cheap and depending how far you go you may end up with a high strung two stroke engine that needs constant jetting and tinkering to run up to its potential.Staying with a complete parts package from one of the guys who sells the parts will help greatly with this problem as well as insuring that all your parts complement each other. Some simple mods like a pipe, reeds, compression boost and some clutching tweaks can make a big difference. However if your kid is big enough that he is borderline on size/age for the mini's the blaster would probably be cheaper in the long run. These next size up atv's(there are a few of them) have a decent suspension and power that would cost a small fortune to equal on a mini.Just be sure your son is ready for a machine of this size and power.

Lets just say you can double the HP. A big bore isnt always the way to go IMO.
If your rider is old/big enough to move up, that's the best option but PLEASE dont stick a 4ft.-8yr.old on a big machine
FYI: we had a blaster, don't want to do that again. The 300ex has proven itself much better to me and my wallet.

well we mostly ride the sand dunes. He has also raced mx for a while and was riding a polini works 50. It was a very fast bike so he has been riding for a long time. Right now he has his eton pretty much maxed out all the time and wants more power to play in some of the larger dunes. He is only 9 right now I was thinking of getting something next spring but he will just have turned 10. I read a post on an eton viper 150 coming out so maybe that will be next step. Hes just needing more power from the 90 but not quite big enough for a full size quad yet. Thats why I was wondering on the mods for the motor but the cost of them can almost get you into a different machine
