My little sister is completely bored with her raptor 80 and its lack of power. Since a new machine isnt really practical right now, as she is still only 7 and they cost a good deal of money, I want to make it faster. Now I know that there is a built in air restrictior plate of some kind and I'l like to know how to remove or modify it. The throttle screw is already turned all of the way out. Thanks for you help, my sister appreciates it.

Page 8-13 of your owners manual has the instructions. If you are missing the book, go to the Yamaha website again, and choose the atv area. along the left side you will see user manuals listed. Click it, fill in appropriate year/model information and viola', you have a users manual too. Although the blowup on the parts manual for it has a much better picture. If you take the air cleaner assembly apart, inside you will find a thin piece of plastic with several small holes in the top and bottom. That is the restrictor plate you are going to throw away...
See now that was pretty easy wasn't it?
