DINLI No-Go After Short Start-Up
#1
I have an 03 Dinli Beast 90 for my 8yo. If the thing sits for more than 2 weeks, getting it started requires removing the feed from the airbox to the carb and priming the carb with carb cleaner or any other flammable aerosol product. Once that's done, it will idle and run great for about 1 minute before dying with any throttle input . More priming and coaxing will eventually get it to the point that it's warm and will then run great. If, after the first priming, I run the thing wide open for a few minutes, there are no problems, but if I start it and just let it idle, it will eventually die and have to be re-primed numerous times. After having problems with it not wanting to run at all after a few minutes, the carb was completely gone thru. I found a piece of debri at the fuel intake port restricting fuel flow to the bowl at the bottom of the carb. Any ideas what could be causing the bad starts after only short periods of sitting and why the tempermental first start. I'm thinking the choke, which I think is electric, is for some reason closing to soon and not allowing the engine time to warm up. Also any suggestions for simple inexpensive mods to give it a little more juice would be much appreciated. The little man is already asking for more power.

Went through the same thing. I think it stayed on too long. Too rich and smoked like heck. After putting on a 20mm Keihin, mine starts right up no problem. (Things I learned the hard way - never kill the engine before the choke fully disengages and make sure your battery has a full charge.)
Hear eton has a kit to make theirs a manual. Don't know if it'll work on yours.
Good luck!
