Going wide
#1
I found a kit on Ebay to widen the front end of my TRX90 using the stock A arms. Has anyone out there tried this. It looks to just be new mounts that are three inches wider per side. This kit should give you 6" wider track in the front. The cost is less than a quarter of the cost of new A arms. With this kit you can use stock shocks or 300EX shocks. I'm afraid that this kit won't be strong enough. My son really beats his bike hard on the jumps.

If the kit that you are refering to is the one that uses your studs and simply screws over the top than yes very strong. They are what you would use if you go with a BIG TIRE KIT on a 4x4. Plenty strong and you leave the shocks alone. If this is not it then describe it and I'm sure someone will have something to say about it.

This kit moves the mounting point at the frame. Where the A arms mount to the frame a spacer is installed then the stock arms are reinstalled. All that happens is the frame mount is moved out three inches on each side so you end up with a +6 frontend without wheel spacers or new A arms. I believe the kit also comes with some different shock brackets so you can use longer shocks.

What did you do to your LT80? I installed a front end from an LT160. Arms hubs and all. I used adapters from Diamond J customs and mounted honda 300ex front wheels . In the rear I installed custom made hub adapters that I welded to my 3lug hubs so I could mount Honda 300ex wheels and smaller profile tires. i used a 4+ extender on the rear. I also notched the frame behind the footpegs and cut and added 3" on the support below the seat. This allowed me to mount an LT160 shock with the bottom mount changed to an LT80. I had the engine done by Jack Moore. This is one hot little quad. It is extremely stable. The brakes are excellent . My wife rides it.
