Gas Gas 300?
#2
i do well with mine for the most part, they are wide & big, suspension is stiff out of the box but can be rebuilt/revalved/resprung. parts are not as available as the jap bikes, but there are some makers out there for parts...
as for power, the 300 is very smooth. no 2-stroke 'hit' to speak of, and they are deceptively fast because of it. if you want even more power... talk to the folks at motowest, they specialize in gasgas engine performance. reliability of the 300 could not be better, i've run a year now without doing my top end yet... but am finally about to... it has not let me down in a race yet, i have finished every one i've entered, but it has required mantenence- as any race bred bike does.

i just got a 04 300.i havent had alot of seat time on it but from what i have had i really like it.imo if your not a full on mx racer you wont have any complaints.my freinds that have yfz450's really like the qaud and said they didnt think the shocks were any stiffer than the yamaha.
i do think if you added heim joints to the upper a-arms to make them fully adustable) it would handel a little better.but it seems to slide and turn well as is.any fab shop could do it and the cost souldnt be that much.
i thought the shocks were stiff also but the more i ride it they seem to work good,i have not touched the stock settings yet either.overall im very pleased, and the motor is very strong once jetted down

there is a company making A-arms that sells just the uppers... www.rebelriders.com $215 +shipping saves you time of finding someone to put heims on the stockers. this mod makes the A-arms caster & camber adjustable, moving the upper ball joint forward to make the caster about 4-5 degrees is what i've heard the quad needs. when i can budget the $$ i will get a set of them & do it.
