Default starter clutch on Breeze:HELP!

anyone done this? man, my factory manual absolutely sucks at giving any meaningful or useful info on this repair, and some other repairs (Like float height adjustment... totally wrong info).

there is a black plastic access cover on the belt cover. what is the purpose? it seems useless. anyways, behind the fixed face is where i THINK i need to look to find the starter clutch. which would mean having to remove the belt cover. My yamaha Breeze is an '89. Considering it's 15 years old, anything else i should service/repair/replace while I have the cover off?Like on my LT80, you need to periodically grease moveable face rollers. (assuming i get the cover off). 1 lousy, rotten #*!&**# screw that is kinda hidden by the brake cable on the bottom of the case, you need a 6" impact driver extension to get at that 1 screw (if I haven't already stripped it beyond repair). I always replace these case screws with hex-head bolts when I re-assemble. I hope there is such a thing as an extension for an impact driver. gotta tell you guys, the Canadian Robertson screw is 100s times better than the Philips screw.

i don't really have a clue how the starter cluch works, but that's what 's not working.

AND, i jumped to the conclusion my starter was shot and bid on a used one on ebay. cmon', somebody outbid me, PLEASE!!

Thanks for any help.
