oil injector removal viper 90
#3
Where is it leaking?I'm just thinking unless you really want to pre-mix why not just fix the oil injection leak? The pump seems to be pretty reliable on the viper,I haven't heard of any failures yet..When you pre-mix you are giving the engine enough oil to run at wide open throttle all the time. This means that any time you are not running at full throttle the engine is getting too much oil.Thats the beauty of the oil injection it increases and decreases with the amount of throttle you are using.Whats the trouble with too much oil? Usually plugged up exhaust systems and ports and fouled spark plugs, not too mention that you are wasting oil and polluting unnecessarily.I know a lot of people will disagree with me and say the advantages of a guaranteed well lubed engine far outwiegh the disadvantages and its hard to argue with that but a good working oil injection system is very nice for the trail rider who doesn't want to be bothered mixing gas and oil and rejetting etc.Its my opinion that too many people get rid of the injection out of fear of what might happen rather than what does.

Hey Raptor3160, welcome to this forum. We don't see "1" post very often. To obtain instructions to remove your Oil Injection system, see the Private Message I sent you. Hope it helps...
If it costs less to go pre-mix then to fix your current oil leak, then go pre-mix. If you do remove your oil injection system, ensure you go with a single throttle cable. A single throttle cable has much less chance of sticking - especially compared to a modified factory Y cable.
As many will say, the choice of going pre-mix or using the factory Oil Injection system is up to you.
