Kymco 450 High Performance Quad!
#1
I've been hearing rumors that Kymco is working on some type of High Performance 450cc Quad to compete directly with the YFZ and 450R. The most exciting thing I've heard is that their planning on using Sherco built motors, more specifically the one or one very similar to their new 450 Trail bike. It includes EFI and a nice bore to stroke ratio that seems to point towards more bottomend. I think Kymco is capable of building a very nice bike, their bikes seem to be higher quality than most any other Taiwanese built quad. Here's a link to the specs on Sherco's trail bike to get an idea of what motor may be in the Kymco 450 performance quad:

Look for a lot of the Chinese makers to start introducing bigger models.
They were restricted by law to 250cc and under, even for exports. A recent law change opens exports up to 700cc, so they are all ramping up to play with the big boys.
looking forward to the influx, as all ATV manufacturers will have to become competitive in price. No more artificial prices or massive profit margins for the manufacturers. Capitolism is great.

It would not surprise me if it happened soon. They are focusing on what sels the most in the market they have (essentually kids and casual use due to engine size restrictions)
Once they branch out, 4x4 is just a matter of time.
