Default Yamaha or Kymco?

Does anyone know who makes the engine for the new yamaha grizzly 125.I was looking at the KYMCO mountaincrosser 150 and the motors look identical.I know there is a cc difference.Just was wondering if it's pure yamaha or pure kymco. thanks

i don't know the precise answer, but i do know Yamaha has used the exact same engine since 1989 on the Breeze, and the only diff now is the new plastic styling for the Grizz 125. Soooooo, if Kymco makes the engine, they've been doing it for the past 16 years (which is possible).

who really knows where any of the big manufacturers (this includes cars, trucks, etc...) get their parts made anymore, it really is a GLOBAL marketplace and cheap production and fat profit are the top 2 priorities above ANYTHING else. If you think quality, reliabilty, value, customer satisfaction should top that list, you've been reading the manufacturers line of b$ from their glossy brochures. Man, that sounds so cynical, but it's true.

Several Chinese factories have been manufacturing parts for the big guys for a decade now. Likely it was made to Yamaha specs by Kymco, and has been for a long time.

Thanks for the info.I feel the yamaha is a rip off compared to the mountain crosser (Kymco).I know the dealer network is much better with yamaha.I will soon have to upgrade my little guys kfx80 and was just doing a little research. The Kfx definitely has a great engine but the quad itself is just a little small. Thanks
