Default Whats it worth?

I was wondering what you guys think my 05 eton viper 90r is worth. I bought new in May it needs new rear fenders the plastic brackets that hold them on broke. Im thinking about selling to get another brand. Your input would be great. Thanks.

If you have something that is broken on a new product, the possible buyers will immediately think its been abused, or the product won't handle general wear / tear riding conditions. Thus, you'll be expected to take a dramatic hit on the selling price. To get the most selling dollars for your mini, you'll probably need to replace its broken parts. When you do replace the broken parts (especially plastic), it will also give the first impression that you baby it. re: NO scratch marks and very shiny.

For selling a new unit that looks new, you're probably looking between 90% to 95% of the selling price of the same model that's on your E-Ton dealer's showroom floor. Like many new minis, their resell value drops approx 5% (PLUS %) the second they are driving off the showroom floor.

Hope this helps....

It's worth what someone is willing to pay! Depending on the area RXL90 viper avg. retail 04 model $1570.00 thats out of the kelly blue book.

zorg, couldn't agree more: worth what someone will pay. but 5% off of new wouldn't even make me consider the used product, I'd pay the extra for the peace of mind knowing nothings been done to it yet plus full warranty. I look to save at least 15-20% on something slighty used. otherwise, the little bit extra in price diff. isn't worth the chance.

We broke one of our rear fender brackets in racing incident. We had it repaired by a "plastic welder".It makes the fender better than new and cost roughly half the price of a new fender and the fix is pretty much invisible and can't be seen at all from the top side.Your other "cheap" option is to rivet a bracket onto the fender to fasten it.Whatever you decide to do you will obviously get more money for it with it in ready to ride condition. With both rear fenders broken the buyer may think the bike has been abused, especially selling it when it is still almost new.I would fix or replace the fenders so they are not an issue.

Thanks for your input and opinions this gives me a little more to think about. I was hoping to get 1700 or 1800 out of it without putting money into it first. That may not be possible. Thanks again.
