2005 ATVA Rules
#16
Here it is straight off the atva GNC mx series 2004 rules....
RIDER ELIGIBILITY
All current AMA full memberships or ATVA Competition members, in good standing and who meet the necessary age requirements, on or before the date of the event for the classes they are entering. Riders that change age during the season may stay in the class they started the year in, or may advance, points accumulated to that point do not advance with the rider to the new class.
I take that as...If he is 11 for the round 1 date he runs 11 and under. If he turns 12 the day before he runs the other.
Now if its the same for 05 is the?

mxmike, Rd. 1 is in Feb, the rounds have nothing to do with it, so say your kid is 11 years old on Jan. 1st 2005, and his birthday is Jan. 2nd 2005 inwhich he turns 12 years old then say you go to the Rd. 1 in Feb. it does not matter that he is 12yrs old now, it matters what age he was on JAN 1st 2005. and say you dont show up till the last race at LL's, if he was 11 years old on Jan 1st 2005 he can still run the 8-11 year old class.

forgot one thing, not sure but i think there might be one rule change about ages and classes which was brought up for the dirt bike class which might effect atv and it has something to do with as the rule is right now if your age changes mid season you were able to run both age groups i think they want to change it to if you move to the old group you can not run the younger group any more. Something like that.
