I have a redcat 50cc. When I try and start the engine (electric start) I get no response. I charged the battery and checked the connections and seem to be ok. Can anybody tell me how to diagnose the problem?

 

Have you tried jumping a wire directly from the battery to the starter to see if it turns?

 

Do you have to have the brake lever pulled in to use the electric starter? If you do the conector on the lever may not be pulled in all the way. I had this problem once. The rubber boot pulled out just a little push it back in and try that.

 

ckeck the fuse

 

There is a relay switch That may have gone bad .It happened to my sons sunray . You can remove the relay and jump the switch. It should crank. Good luck

 

Thanks for the reply, can you tell me where this Relay switch was located on your son's quad?

 

The relay on my sons quad was under the seat. you will see a small square box with wires running to it from the electric start. Mine was brass in color. Good luck
