Hello, my grandsons scrambler 50 dies at full throttle. Thought it might be water in gas, drained the tank, put fresh gas with stabilizer, didn't work. Could the duct tape trick on the 2001 work for this one?

did you remove and clean the carb? it may have dirt and water in it. the only complete way to clean it is to take it off and check. also, duct tape??? never heard this one. and hey WELCOME to the forums.

ok found the duct tape fix in another thread. would not recommend this fix. sounds more like a band aid for bigger problem. the carbs need to be jetted in colder weather. these small bike are really lean from the factory. your though sounds more like something may be in the carb. by blocking off the air intake the engine gets less air, but this can lead to other problems too, like carbonning in the exhaust and fouling plugs. clean the carb and see what you find.
