[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]Thank,s Spike, I will need to pay close attention to my 2 Pred 90cc after a top end rebuild. I just finished the last one tonight. Tomorrow I will start them and will be ready for next weekend,s dessert trip.

Default Spark Plug color Readings...

Great pics, some of the hot O.K. are a little past my comfort level. My kids aren't always up front so I have the luxury off not having to be on the edge yet. Better a little rich and finish then the alternative.

Yes, this is one of those pages to bookmark. Better yet, print the page (or Save AS to your computer, pull into a Graphic editing tool to only select the plug pictures, then print) and place with your mini's manual. If into carb adjusting, a great page to pin on your garage / shop wall. With a page like this, even someone like me can under stand it. Pretty cool pictures for sure....

Default Spark Plug color Readings...

Does each plug check need to be done with a brand new plug? Can you get a good reading from an used plug after changing the jetting? Just wondering if I need to have 10 or more plugs on hand.lol

When I was running sleds (snowmachines) if we were close on the jetting we would make another run with the same plug. If a plug was oil or fuel fouled very bad it was hard to get a good reading and would use a new plug. After we had jetting good we would put in the fouled plugs and they would clear/clean up but it took a little riding. If you are going to jet real close to the edge a new plug to get a fast reading is alot cheaper then a burned up motor. Me personally I jet my kids bikes a little on the fat side for safety as they wouldn't utilize the little extra on the edge would give them. I also know for a fact they wouldn't realize the signs of pre-ignition etc. and do something about it soon enough. I would have a burned down motor and a kid saying it was fine, what are you talking about? If you race at a level parts are supplied for you or you have deep pockets then by all means, go for it. I don't travel with spare motors or the stuff to rebuild at the track. The worst memories I have is the looks on my kids faces when they can't ride because of mechanical reasons.
