My son rode it around it friday for about an hour and a half after we got it, and I started it sunday for about 5 mins and pulled the plug to check the color and it would not start back up. Went an bought a new plug and nothing. Checked the gas and oil they are fine.
The atv only has at most 2 hours on it, what is going on. HELP ME PLEASE!!

Default UPDATE! UNISON 90 NO SPARK!

.

No Spark could be caused from:
- Dirt / crud within the ignition key, kill switch or other areas.
- Bad Spark Plug Cap.
- Bad Spark Plug Wire.
- Bad Ignition Coil.
- Bad CDI.
- Bad Stator. To test Stator, see below...

----------------------

As a suggestion, start from the stator and troubleshoot towards the Spark Plug.

With a digital ohms meter, pull the stator output wires and test for ohms readings. For pictures on how I tested the stator on our Pred-90, surf:

Tool I used:

http://community.webshots.com/photo/...62613589PYiCcV

Wires on our Pred-90:

Ohms Readings:

http://community.webshots.com/photo/...84444182nXeEcj

Note: At the bottom of each picture, select "View Full Screen" in order to read the small text.

Notes:
1 - Entire test can be done under 10 minutes (if you have a Digital Meter).
2 - Only physical work is unplugging the wires. These plugs are under the steering column area.
3 - The Ohms Reading values on your brand of mini will be slightly different. But, the verification formula of (approx.) A = B + C is the same. If you get a "ZERO" reading on the values, then your Stator is shot.

If you can, perform this quick "Stator Output" test and let us know the results.

Hope this helps.

Would say it's probably got something to do witht he plug wire. Too much of a coincidence.

Did you remove the cap off the end of the new plug? Make sure you didn't bend or break anything in the boot?

Check the fuses too.

YES - it is very rare for a "brand new" stator to blow. But, I've known a few sterios & TVs that stopped working within the 1st few hours over operation. Thanks goodness for "30 day return to store" warranties on these NEW from the store products. Doing a ohms meter test under 10 minutes would eliminate (or identify) the stator.

As Raptorlegs stated, it could even be a simple spark plug cap problem. Could even be a bad connection that came apart. Or, even the fuse. Check all connections and its fuse. If possible, apply 12V electrical grease (dielectric grease) to each joint / connector while under the hood. If still "no go", then start from the electrical source and work downward.

If you've reached your max troubleshooting skill level or "had enough", then perhaps it's time for your dealer to get involved??? Hopefully, your mini is still under warranty.

Hope this helps as well...

Default UPDATE! UNISON 90 NO SPARK!

Check for spark at different grounding points of the motor? I have checked at easy to reach places and have gotten bad results. Against case under oil tank has given best spark. Not to emply but, this has happened to me, did you check that fuel was on? Will idle for awhile before running out of fuel. My son had turned the fuel off, had to use some choke and crank longer then I would think to start again. Probably not related to your problem but, I have read in other posts about running another larger ground from battery to frame. Not sure if this is a brand specific problem/fix or not but can't hurt any of them. I would also cycle all switches a few times.
