Has anybody seen or ridden this machine? I'd be interested in that 4 stroke, CVT tranny to see how it does with low end "crawl over rocks" torque. Wished it had Reverse, it'd be the perfect trail riding machine.

I don't know about the 4 stroke machine. But I built my son an 04 AC 50 into a Hetrick powered 70. This quad rocks. It has been put living Heck, and still asks for more. It has well over 30 XC and MX races with very very little trouble. Plus well over 200 hrs of hard woods riding. We have had to replace the normal stuff. 1 tire rod end,and I replaced the front spindle bushings for this years race season. The quad is very very tuff. If Michael can't tear it up then it can't be tore up. He hits tabletops pinned wide open and hits doubles as hard as they can be hit. In XC racing in some of the most extreme conditions he has never had a DNF and won all 16 XC races he was entered in in the 04 season. In fact he was the only AC in our series. Since every1 seen how much he was winning ,now there are 3 more in our series and they all do very well.

.

On the 4 stroke AC 90, I remember reading previous posts about not starting very well. Especially in cold or dramatic changed weather. Something about electric choke and perhaps bad design of the factory carb??? I do remember AC 90 4 stroke folks replacing their factory carb with a 20mm carb with Manual choke, and their mini has started "every time". Pres and GO!!! after changing the factory carb.

Before purchasing, please research the many previous AC posts in this forum (and other mini-quad forums). My memory is bad at times but for some reason, the factory 4 stroke carbs on AC 90 remind me of a pattern....

Hope this helps...

I remember reading that post or series of posts. I thought it was a 2 stroke AC, not the 4 stroke. I'll have to look around a bit. I'm not buying anything now, but if someone could come up with a 4 stroke, reverse, lights, gears (R123) it be the perfect machine. I think the CVT is not powerful enough on a 90 to ride trails with a decent slope (not to mention rocks too).

My friend bought the Bombardier 4 stroke with shifter, I think it's a 4 or 5 speed. It doesn't have reverse or lights. But the engine is a Honda clone. It's an awesome well built quad.

It was my understanding that those (Bombardier) didn't go over 15 mph with no discussion about a limiter. At least that is what their spec's report. Maybe they do, but I've never heard anything different.
