Arctic Cat 90cc Clutch governor
#1
Does anyone know where I can get a diagram for removing the clutch governor on a 2004 arctic cat 90cc? I once had a diagram that I found on the internet but I can't find it anywhere. Any help will be much appreciated.

The only thing I found on our Cat in the clutch area was in the variator. The variator in the pully system on the left when you take the clutch cover off. You remove the nut that holds the pully system on. It is right hand threads. Pull the first pully off. There is a wedding band looking spacer inbetween the 2 pullys. Remove it. Put back together. This spacer keeps the pullys from going together which keeps the belt lower in the pullys which makes it go slower.removing it will let the belt ride up higher on the pullys giving it much more top end. We gained 5 to 7 mph. Also they have a 50 tooth sprocket get rid of it. I have 3 sprockets 30,32,35, with a 19 front. Depending on the tracks and dryness of the track I will choose between the 3. I like the 19/32 combo for most XC tracks in high country. But I run the 19/30 combo in the flat land with some hilly conditions. Hope this helps Mike!
WARNING: NEVER RUN THE CLUTCH WITH OUT THE COVER ON!

What year and model are you guys talking about? We have a 2003 model in the shop and I can't seem to see exactlly what you are talking about the only washers I can see are the ones related to the kit starter and the spacer on the main shaft.

The model I am working on is a 2004 4 stroke, however it is the same setup on all arctic cat youth models. In fact the only differances between the 50 and 90 models are head/piston/rings size, tire size and like cdi box. If you changed that stuff they would be the same bike. There are 3 govners on these bikes exhaust, clutch, and carb. With them all removed the bike will do about 35mph.

That is not on the model I'm working on we are goinig way over 15 mph.

Speedwerks I dont want to get into a bunch of technical stuff with you but you guys are wrong as to how the mini atv cvt works you'r spacers and all that stuff you have sold me and 2 other people in my town is not at all what parts are needed to increase the stall on the minis totally useless parts. The front variator has nothing to do with the engagement it's not like the big polaris bikes.

Where exactly are the three governors that you are tooking about for the 90cc 4 stroke? I understand the one in the front clutch, but where are the other two that you say are in the crb and exhaust? Thankks, Joe
