Default DUNE TIRE QUESTION?

I would like to get my son some dune tires for his Unison 90. I have never been to the dunes so I am clueless as to what to get rim size or tire size.

I would also like to get some advise as to what size to get for my Z. I know I will get sand stars just don't know what size.

Any help would be great.
Thanks
Roman

Default DUNE TIRE QUESTION?

the safe way to go is to match them with your stock tires

Default DUNE TIRE QUESTION?

What would be a good dune tire for the 90. Is in mandatory to get front tires as well or will I be okay at the dunes with my stock front tires?

Thanks

Default DUNE TIRE QUESTION?

You'll be fine with your front stock tires if you become a dune nut later you can get fronts. Rocky mountain Atv has about the best prices. And they will have them in stock for your bike and the mini. You'll find the mini even with paddles will have to stay off the big dunes. Piped ,ported minis scream up the dunes but stockers need to stay on the flatter sections but you guys will have a blast I promise.

Default DUNE TIRE QUESTION?

The Skat-Trak Gliders at Rocky Mountain are a really good tire. I've got them on my sons bike. It will flat go up some hills. They can tell you what size you need by giving them what bike you have. Or get the same size as stock.

Stay away from Geckos. Gliders are one of the best options. Almost as good would be the Sand Star. Both are in the 18x9.5x8. I just switched my boys 90 from the Glider to the Sand Star. The SandStar provides superior traction, but it is stiff and can give a rougher ride. I'm sticking with them for now. I got a really good deal from Moto Sport Outlet . They beat Rocky Mountain by a bit. Could be because I'm a local, but I would compare prices with both.

By the way the 18" posts are for your 90 you'd want larger for your 400 like a 20" and it will run best with a 6,7,8 paddle not a 10,12 paddle. And you dont necessarily have to get a .190 wheel. The thinner wheels like .125,.160 will hold up fine in the sand since theres no rocks etc they're plenty strong even for jumping unless you'r nuts. save your $20
