can i get better throttle response, my daughter really has to apply a lot of pressure and then it jerks her

 

I would call hetrick and ask about some clutch upgrades.

I would think a new carb and reeds would help.

 

To remove throttle control pressure, perhaps its OI system could be removed (and run Pre-Mix with proper ratio based on brand of oil), or a throttle extender could be used or perhaps the "pull springs" on the sytem could be exchanged with less compression springs???

Does it "jerk forward" because your young rider is either off or "full throttle" (like my daughter) or is because the carb's jettings needs to be tweaked a little better?? If spark plug is dark tan color in all throttle ranges and the thumb control pressure is "ok", then better reeds might be the answer.
