Default 90cc Reliability?

I know this is a bit of a loaded question but search of keyword "reliability" came back with only 1 hit.

I have a 4'8" 75 pound daughter and I want to get her a proper fitting 90cc ATV.

What is (on average)the most reliable Automatic transmission 90cc ATV on the market. I say on average because we have all seen lemons in an otherwise respected brand.

I am a lousy wrench and will go broke taking it to the shop. Safety and reliability are by far the most important to me.

Don't know how you could say one is more reliable than another since they are so similar. If you aren't mechanically inclined, you should prioritize a good local dealership.

I can tell you the best 90cc atv for your money that is up there with the name brands. The Unison Desert cat. It is a great atv, 90cc 2 stroke fully automatic and yuo can get reverse as an option. The desertcat with the rev option is about 1500. You CANT beat that for a quality atv. Go to Raceway and talk to John. This is NOT a cheap chinese atv but a very good affordable one.

Absolutely the Honda! You will never have to do anything except change the oil and spark plug. AND, the kid will learn how to shift............

I just sold one that we have had for 5 years. I would say it easily has 1,000 miles on it, and is in perfect running order. The other is 4 years old and still going strong. If you want to think about it in terms of safety, those automatics don't have engine braking. The Honda has it is spades.

Recon,

You are right on the money with the TRX 90!

There is one in our group. I think its the 3rd owner (late 80s model). I have seen that poor little bike abused to the limit. Rolled, up to the seat in mud, and pinned in 2nd gear for 30 minutes at a time.

It always starts amazing!

My wife and daughter are set on Autos. What to do

Well, its only fault might be that it starts hard when cold.

If you want to think safety, other brands have things like full floor boards, hydraulic brakes, rear foot brakes, headlights and brake lights.

Not to mention convenience items like electric start with kick back-up.

E-ton Viper. My son races and trail rides and we have had "Zero" problems with it in over two years. Not even a fouled plug with the stock oil injection that everyone always says is so crappy on these mini's.I Clean the air filter regularly and adjust the chain about once a year!

The little one has a Unison Desert Cat 90 and it appears to be a solid unit with plenty of power. For $1345 shipped (depending on location), you can't go wrong. I believe the Honda 90 is probably the most reliable but the pull start thing for a little girl is a problem. Lot's of choices.
