sportsman 90 -how bad did we mess this up????

ya, me to. it did only have 30 lbs. of compression and it did run.not good.
the belt was fine.
i pulled the head off and there was a groove in the cylinder wall.
i though ok not to bad.
i pulled the cylinder off, then i saw that the wrist pin wasn't sitting in the piston like it should have been, but up closer to the top of the piston by about a 1/4 inch.
the backs of the holes that the wrist pin sets in were busted out.
so i though i would buy a piston, rings and cylinder.
while i was cleaning out the ground up piston parts out of the crankcase i saw that the end of the connecting rod was bent.
polaris doesn't sell just the connecting rod, the sell the crankshaft and connecting rod assembly.
you have to have special pullers to get the crank out.
you have to split the cases for that.
polaris sells a complete motor for $600.
or i could get the parts for about $380. unless i forgot to price some other parts i need.
what would you guys do?

you can make a case splitter out of a $20 harmonic balancer puller. you will need the puller and a couple long 8mm bolts after you take the case screws out use the puller to pull the right hand case off. then switch it to the left side and use it to push the crank out of the left case.

I've got a stock crank, rod, cylinder,a new 52mm piston, stator, flywheel, carb, you name it. I'd do it for you pretty cheap labor and everything for less than the parts at poorlaris if you want to come to Kansas City area or it takes about 1 hr to pull motor and probably $30 to ship it each way.Or I've got all the parts you'd need way cheaper than polaris. For about $500 plus shipping Billy at WRH will send you a 109cc kit with crank, piston, cylinder etc. If interested in my stuff let me know.As long as your cases are good I wouldnt spend the $ for the whole motor not needed. i have a lot of stock extra parts for the 90cc polaris. used stuff and some new stuff from my sons 90 scrambler. let me know what you might need. sorry dont have a crank but sure i have a stator, reed,{ piston & rings head almost positive i still have}. spent a lot of money upgrading as many dads do. most parts if not can be found on ebay, remember to look under e ton, dinili, kasea also. 95% of the parts are the same.
