I have done the mods that you have completed....

Two things may be the problem

1- If you open the airbox up before you get the pipe/head work then it may be getting too much air
2- If you disconnect the auto inject oil system and run a premix of 32 to 1 it will help

I had a flat spot when you punched it off the line and once I switched to 927 castor Premix 32 to 1 it went away immediately. I also use a plug without the "P" which I heard may help as well...not sure on this....I do knwo that the auto inject removal made it run much better!!

CT Racing makes a nice little kit for around $400. It includes a head, chambered exhuast and K&N Filter System.

Hope this helps

Wonder what they mean by head? cause for about 220.00 you can by the pipe , 40.00 for the K@N (RU-0200)an 25.00 from your local machine shop to mill the head .045 thats 285.00 I dont know if the pretty looking head is worth 115.00. Unless there sending a CYL. with porting done but i think thats just the head.

We took the little booger out on the trails this weekend. It started beautifully, on the first pull, and ran great for about a half hour then it died and would not start. Not a cough, nothing. So I towed the boy out aprox. a mile to a gravel road and got it started again after about three pulls. It ran like old times again, a little hesitation and rough. Then it died a few minutes later and I had to restart it four times 'till we got back to the truck. It wouldn't start once we got there. I got it home and it starts again.

Sorry about the long story....but the plug has good color, kinda light rusty look to it. Does this sound like an ignition problem and coincidence or is it related to the modifications that I have done?

They do some porting as well, plus I believe that the K&N Filter comes with a chrome shroud and the jet kit.

I will be getting this kit in the near future and will post my results....I hear that it really wakes them up...

Wheel spacers will run about $85-$100 for front/back wheels, which will help with stability issues once the green machine starts running better.

Just removing the auto inject makes it much more responsive....The Castor 927 Oil burns very clean

Have you checked to see if it's getting spark when this happens? You need to determine this, or if it's not getting fuel, then we can prolly figure something out. Bulldog has a good point about switching to premix helps out alot, but you have to check the jetting again when you do this. I like the 927 castor also, makes almost no carbon buildup.

I'll jump in... Originially I had done all of the basic five min mods and that was huge for this little bike. Last week I ordered and installed the CTRacing kit. All I can say is HOLY MOLEY! My 6 year old daughter who races and is always begging for more power ran a couple of practice laps on a terrain track came back to me and through that huge toothless smile couldn't even talk she was so stoked. I have noticed that unless she stays on the pipe it starts a little slow though... I think this must be due to the new compression ratio with the deck shaved off on the head and the fact that i and using a .75 main jet. Once the little thing is hot and she stays on the pipe it RIPS! even with my butt on it. I was jumping it through a set of natural whoops. I would strongly suggest putting on the kit but would say to keep you tools handy because you may want to reduce jet size for that bottom end issue. i am going to play with it after I see her off the start line next week against the other quads. Also learn your carb adjustments ... I am constantly adjusting for elevation and weather conditions to keep it at a good mix. Of course I am a tinkerer by nature and usually can't leave wellenough alone!

GREAT INFO!!!!

The single speed tranny is what kills this bike....I wonder if a sproket change along with lower profile tires will help it rev up and have better throttle response

There is one other guy who posted on one of my threads that was having a custom sproket made...not sure of the results

I've heard rumors that Hetric used to make heavier springs for the clutch. A family in our circut did this mod and thier bike screams. Hetrick - ofcourse - no longer makes these parts due to low demand. HOWEVER... in chatting with the folks at CTRacing I am told that they are currently in R&D on this and another mod combo to make the most of the power that the Pipe/Head/Air filter kit creates. I know they are in a big rush to finish it up because it is for a magazine article due out in October. Not sure what mag.

I was warned by sproketspecialists that if I do spocket adjustments I am going to pay for it in top end or bottom end depending on with sprokect I add teeth to. They do have a larger rear sprocket for th lt50 though. Someone knows more fill us in!

Yeah that was me who ordered the sprocket I droped a tooth in the rear its now a 36 tooth. it has a little more top end. but I didnt really have to worry about the bottom end because of his lower profile tires 16-6.5-8. AN im only running a 70 main jet. He raced last night it ran the best it ever did.The next thing deff. is stiffer clucth springs. Let me know about the CTracing springs as soon as you find out I really need them.

What kind of head came with the kit? Is it a stock head with mods or is it a custom head.
