Baja 90cc

OK, I have read through all 16 pages of this thread. In my opinion...the general synopsis of this whole thread is this........
The Baja 90 ATV is a good starter ATV for kids.....you had better just keep a good eye on all of the components or you could be sorry. For a fraction of the cost, you may be fortunate and get a good ATV out of the box. However, there are a few unlucky individuals that have had a "lemon" from the get-go.
In the new culture of the Internet and easy access to information, it has made it really easy easy to completely vent about something anywhere at anytime. Usually, the standard theme of these types of web forums is one of complaining. After all, most people that get a good product (ATV or other) probably don't visit these types of forums because they are too busy enjoying the good thing they have bought. The people that have been "wronged" or received a horrible product look for anyone to listen to their horror stories and rants. This forum, however, has been mostly positive. I give a lot of credit to those who have bought and experienced a good product here and have returned for the better of all of us.
I am a Suzuki Vinson 500 4X4 owner and absolutely love it. I have been looking to get a 50-90 cc ATV for my son and daughter and will likely make the jump to the Baja before Christmas. Hopefully I can cash in on the Black Friday deals here at Pep Boys. We will see.
Thank you all for your input here and I look forward to posting here in the future about my good (or bad) experience with the Baja 90.

Hello all...I've been an avid reader of this forum and I can also testify that it has been a very helpful place..to vent, rant, give kudos on, or whatever the praise or complaint is. I have 2 baja's (50cc and 90cc) and can't say enough about them to be honest...a minor problem here and there, but well worth what we've paid for them. I've learned more on this forum than I have trying to talk to a Baja representative. Our 2 Baja's get quite a workout, with hours of riding every week and through snow, rain, and lots of mud and they have been 2 great little ATV's!
I do have a question to anyone about the 90cc - front drum brake - my 7 year old was riding just this past Saturday morning and all of a sudden the right front tire froze. Does anyone have any suggestions or cures for this? I know he doesn't really use the front brakes simply b/c the handle is harder for him to pull than the back brakes....but then again he drives it like a little mad-man..haha
Thanks!

On the front brakes.....My son had the same thing happen to him one day when he was going about 25 kph, just about through him off the bike....needless to say. Any way what happened is that the brake shoe lining separated from the shoe itself and jammed the drum.....took it apart and now it is good, but still can't find brake shoes for it anywhere

Have you tried Baja yet? If they can't get you some in a timely manner go to a brake relining shop. I have one that I use that relines brake shoes & clutch discs etc. of any sort. Just take in your old ones and they will reline them with new friction materail.

I just can't say anuff about our little Baja 90 (we even made a kool-aid stand and pull it around on it).....its been over a year now and have not even needed to add air to the tires....can't say that about my other bikes......seems tires are my biggest pain on my other bikes.....only wish I could have waited a year because of the new BAJA 90 CAMO utility atv's they just came out with.....really like the front and rear racks with the bigger mud slinging tires....would be better in the snow too....I do a little hunting and could haul some feed and stuff on those racks......saw one in Pepboys last week.........dang I want it !!!! Oh well......maybe later on.......check it out on the Pepboys ad page.......looks really sweet with new body style and lights for those of you who don't have one yet.....RIDE-ON >>>>>

Bozzy I checked the pepboys website last week and I didn't see it there. Do you have a link to some ad??
I think we're ready for a change with our baja 90. Its been fine mechanically better then my other quad by far. Just the boys seem to drive the 110 quad with gears and the baja 50 dirt bike more. I suspect because they both go faster!!! We'll see maybe I'll keep it for another year, its a good starter quad for small kids.

Hi all,
Ok, so I read this entire thread, which was extremely insightful. I was thinking about buying the 90 cc Baja in blue, and think I'm pretty much sold on it ! I do have a few reservations about it's ability to go up hills and such, but it seems like it'll do OK (riders using it will be between 80 lbs and 130 lbs). We already have a 450 cc Polaris, but need a second quad as there's too many of us
How has everyone done with bottoming out on it ? It seems like it's a bit low to the ground, and while I'm not worried about hitting the skid plate or anything else non-essential, I don't want to be stuck not being able to go over rocks or anything with a little tougher terrain.
And back to the hills issue, how bad is it really on hills ? The hills won't be too steep, but some of them will be pretty long, is it simply a matter of the engine getting too hot and overheating ? If that's the case, no worries here, since it's normally pretty cool here even in the summertime.
Any feedback is appreciated !
