tire weight
#1
I just built my sons quad (Polaris scrambler 90)and need to upgrade the tires. I know that the hot setup for the tracks is snow hogs on the back and holeshots on the front for the track. But we are trail riders with a backyard MX track. I am considering holeshots all the way around, razors all the way around, and turf tamers on the rear with pathfinders on the front, but I'm looking for weight for the tires. I want good ground clearence with the minimal amount of weight.
If I should be looking at some different tires let me know.
Any thoughts on the rims while were on the subject?

We've been using .125 rims for over a year now without any problems, they're most likely the lightest. I think the snowhogs are popular because their more forgiving to the transmission and axle than a larger softer tire. My boy has been on some wild trails with the snowhogs and managed pretty well. Look at recreationtire.com They have some good packages for the mini's and really good prices.
