Mini 90 ATV (SunL) from RaceWay ATV

One thing I forgot to ask - what is the deal with the alarm? No mention of it in the user manual. Every so often it makes a loud noise / short tune, but I don't know why?
Also, the remote key fob - what do those buttons do? Again, no mention of them in user manual. Mine has "lock" "unlock" "lightning bolt (start)" and "bell/alarm".
Thanks!

Personally I think the alarms are a bit of a joke, but I guess you could use it to control the ATV is you had a small kid that might try to ride it when you were not around. I don't use ours at all.
If you turn the key off, it will chirp 3 times after a few seconds.
The buttons are just like a car alarm, arm, disarm. The start button will start the ATV remotely, very useful! You can also kill it remotely, maybe more useful with little ones.

Can anyone tell me about the exhaust pipe on the sunl 90?? I'm thinking about cutting the end off and seeing if there is anything to pull out so it can breath better...Anyone tried it yet ?

I purchased two 70cc's(SLA70) for my kids for Christmas and they love them. There were no instructions on how to use the remote start/stop but figured it out. You have to hold the little lightening bolt on the remote for a second and then hit it again. Works up to about 150ft. The unlocked lock picture shuts it down. I weigh 200lbs and can get the thing rolling with about 1/8 thottle(limited) on a automatic. Make sure you set the shocks to the easiest setting so they work with just a little weight on them. There is no on/off/reserve valve on these which can be a problem. The jet's in these carbs are tiny and can clog easily. I went to HomeDepot and got a on/off 1/4" water valve(brass) in the plumbing department for about $5.00. Just put it after the filter and before the carb. I shut it off and ran the carbs dry until next time. The headlight is nice on low, but the high beam goes way to far out there. The taillight only works in the high beam mode and when the brake is applied?? And the instruction book doesn't tell you about adjusting the idle(not clearly). Pop the left cover off and you will see the idle screw. Get it warmed up and adjust. It would be nice if it had front brakes but my kids had no problem riding the desert at the Colorado River. Bought the two of mine for $920 and picked them up at the warehouse in the City of Industry. Overall, great little quads for the price.

Curious as to what the K&N will provide over stock?? The SunL's come with a K&N like velocity cone filter so I don't see any benefit going to the K&N. I have done a lot of dyno work on Jetski motors and there was no real benefit that one manufacturer would claim over the other. K&N, Prok, TauCeti, R&D to name a few all produced about the same hp and power curve. This was all done on a Dynomite dyno. Getting rid of a stock paper filter is a improvement(minute) but the benefit is you can clean most of the AM filters.

The K&N is not just for a performance gain although it does give them a noticable gain but more because the stock airbox and filters do not filter out as much as they should. The filter boxes are restrictive and not sealed very well.
