Default Hi, first post.

Hi, my name is Steve this is my first post. I have a Redcat MKII 150 and my lil brother has a 110 MK II. We bought them a few months ago and we love them so far. His has had no problems and mine has had a few, but I am a patient person and everything is under warranty. I read on here the tranny cases are weak. Mine cracked but my dealer put in a new tranny. The other problem is that my chain tensioner keeps coming up from under the chain and popping forward and causing me problems. I got stuck out in the woods yesterday and had to have the brother go back and get my toolbox . My dealer is gonna put on a new chain and tensioner for me so, thats cool. I just wanna know if anyone has done anymods to theirs and how it works out. If there is any info anyone can pass on that would be wonderful.

Default Hi, first post.

Hi solareclipse2, and welcome to the forum. I dont own a Redcat, but others here do. Good to hear you have a good dealer, that seems to be one of the biggest problems with chinese quads. MWQ

Look around in the Raceway section of the forum, you may find answers there.

Default Hi, first post.

Thanks for the welcome. I see in your sig you have a Yamoto 150, hows that workin for you? We had a Yamoto 70 but the piston rings fried in it. I also heard the Kazuma and Recat are the same and the Yamoto is similar...are there any good aftermarket parts?

My wifes Yamoto has been modified a little from stock and works perfectly for her now. I had the usual bolts to tighten/replace, but overall except for the rear suspension it wasnt bad stock. I am a machinist and have done all of my "aftermarket" mods myself. If you want, you can look at the photos on my page. Click on the camera to the left.

Did you ever get the Yamoto 70 running again?

Default Hi, first post.

MWQ, we never got the 70 running again. What we ended up doing was giving the thing back to the guy we bought it from and got our money back. It turns out the guy was on a shady deal in the first place. That rear shock setup is awesome, I personally think my rear spring compresses too much when I get goin on it.

MWQ, could that cooler rack you made handle a small gas tank or even a toolbox? I saw an ATV rack on ebay that would fit our ATVs but he wants 125 bux for them, and I know its not worth more than 50.

At least you were able to get your money back, it could have been worse. The new rear shock is the biggest improvement that I have done. The stock shock had 9/16" of travel and the new one is good for over 3 1/2" of travel. And it has dampening too.

The cooler/rack is actually one piece. I made the bracket into the cooler it self. It could be modified to mount anything, but the wife just wanted a cooler.

Some Redcats are Kazumas, some are not.

Default Hi, first post.

Well my motor says Kazuma on it...so I know that is at least a Kazuma.

MWQ, if I email you a picture of the rack I am looking at could you tell me how much it would cost to make?

I could tell you what I think it would take to make, but I dont have a business that makes aftermarket parts. And if I did it would be wrong for me to talk about it here, its against the rules.
