my son started on a fisher price lil quad. after 3 motor upgrades this lil thing was going about 10 mph.at the age of 2 he got an lt50.he is now 4 and ready to move up to the lt80. it seems that some kids learn quickly and others not as fast. dont try to push the kid any farther than they are ready. my 14 yryold still doesnt get the consept of shifting.

Chirochris,
My little guy was riding the atc 70 when he was 4 1/2. We would just put it in 2nd and let him go.
He started on a powerwheels at 1 1/2. He's a big 6 now and rides a trx 90. Full riding gear (boots, pants, jersey, chest protector, neck roll, helmet, and gloves) He still is not too great at shifting, but the great thing about the honda 90 is I just put it in 3rd and he goes anywhere I go pretty much. He has paddles and dirt tires and hardly ever gets stuck!
Hobbyracer,
My 14 year old doesn't do too hot at shifting either. He fried my 400ex by running it at the rev limiter for an extended time. Now momma has a big bore kit. But I'll probably sell the honda rather than passing it down to him. I think he's not ready.
