KFX50/LT50 CT Racing Jetting Questions
#1
Just put on the CT Racing kit last night....First off....It sounds really nice and the top end is nasty!!! Great uprgade...No all they need to do is making a perfomance clutch and we can be competitive off the gate!!!
I need some help with tuning the carb....Like Jet size and clip setting....
Here is what I have done to the bike--
Restrictors out (both)
Removed piggy back jet
Castor 927 Premix
Same Plug without the "P"
CT Racing Kit--Includes K&N Air Filter, jets, Pipe, Head Mod
Stock wheel set up----New set up on the way---Recreational tires
I am running it with the 75 jet and the clip on the middle of the needle.....
It runs great once it starts rolling (really good)...it is just that initial bog that is bothering me.....Is this because of the pipe causing more top end....losing some bottom end?? or could my jetting be off?
The kits lets in so much more air that I am thinking that this is the reason....The 70 jet didn't offer as much top end as the 75....I had the clip all the way to the bottom on the needle and then changed it to the middle of the needle and it ran a lot better....
Is there a set # of turns on the air/fuel mixture screw to use as a starting point
What are you guys jetting? Any info would much appreciated.
Hats off to CT Racing....Very nice kit and I would recomend it as a must have for these ATVs....

I am useing the .75 main. My initial setting on the air screw was 2.5 turns out. I adjust it almost every day though so I couldn't tell you where it is today. I tune by ear and pull. By pull I mean that I like to have a good solid idle speed when it is hot and keep the bike reved high enough that it just barely wants to engage the clutch. Just barely. I also clean the air filter religiously.

I am running the stock plug type without the "P"...Should I change it?
What clip on the needle are you set at??
Can't tell if the bog is just part of the KFX curse or what?
I am thing of getting Snow Hogs for the back 16" with the Douglas Rims
For the front?? Either the Cheng Shin 19" or the Snow Hog 18"
What do you think of this?? I see many racers with bigger fron tires...the 10" rims to give let flex in the turns, but the 3/96 pattern isn't made for for the 10" type
Is the taller tire better even though I will still be using an 8" rim? Or will it add bonce in the turns?
Or I could get all 16" snow hog all the way around??
I ordered the Kasea Nerf Bars today...time for the extended swingarm...
Any word on the wiseco piston set up?
It's like getting blood from a stone with the performance needs on the little quads!!!
