Yamaha Raptor 50 or Eton 50

If dependability is your main concern then i would go with one of the the big 4......If performance is your main concern then you may wan to go to the E-ton.....I just see so many posts about problems with stock units......which scared me away(i never would have looked at an off brand)...but now my next ATV for my son will be an E-Ton 50 custom Black Widow...
The KFX is not even close to the same bike that I bought stock so it can be made to perform nicely, but with E ton it can be done much easier and cheaper
If you are not mechanically inclined or rushing to the MX track then go with one of the four big names...I have not had 1 once of problems from the KFX....I do wish it came with electirc start
The KFX was enough bike to beat an LT80 and Yamaha 80 2 weeks ago at the MX track(not pee wee track)....and my boy is 3 1/2 and he beat the 7 and 8 yr olds on his 50cc

Can we agree that the 400Ex is a great quad?
I was just out front putting nerf bars and renthal handle bars on my 2000 400EX.....My older son is using tomorrow at the MX track
I was hoping that my 2006 450R was going to arrive today, but it looks like it will be monday....

My son's next ATV will be an E-Ton....The problem is that right now it is too big for my son in comparison to the KFX 50.

Seen 2 problems with Eton. The electronic choke which is NOT on the new units (they went to a manual). And carboned up spark arrestors. Whoopie.
Guarantee I can find more people that have been disappointed in their kfx/lt50 than in an Eton period. It's too narrow, has practically no suspension, no cvt, drum brakes and doesn't run worth a hoot. Only time I'd consider one is of my kid just flat didn't fit a REAL quad.

Just the appearance doesn't shout quality on "some" of the of the off brands...but when they are tweaked they are bad a$$....Read the forums and you will hear about the bikes running and then not running for little reasons
The KFX is an anchor, but I feel that it is solid and dependable from my experience with it...but I am still going with the E-Ton next time
I already said that my son's next bike will be an E-Ton so where do you want to go with this??????

I guess no where. Just think you're selling them short. Heck, I'd put mine up against an KFX/LT80 anyday, much less a 50.
And I paid less for it than I would have for the 50.

You seem to be taking this personal....
Yes the KFX is a dog stock and to make it go anywhere takes a lot more money than it would with an E Ton...which is why my son's next bike will be an E ton (when he is big enough to ride a "REAL quad" as you put it....
If you want a "real quad" get a Cobra 70....That is the only "Real Quad" right off the showroom floor

E ton has opened my eyes and won me over.....
but for now my little man is too small for one....the day he is big enough he will have one in the garage
How do you think I feel throwing money at the KFX 50...it hurts, but all the other bikes are just too big
I will tell you this...the KFX50 will some mods can really move.....I can't believe how well it is running now....
The CT Racing kit includes head work, pipe, K&N setup......the stock tires really hold them back as well
I just installed new douglas rims with snow hog MX tires and he was doing donuts roosting higher than my head...
It is still dead off the line....CVT tranny would be great....I think the 2006 LT50 is 4 stroke with a CVT tranny....
Did you go to the link I posted for the Black Widow custom eton?? It looks like a mini 450R

Okay here is where I am at in purchasing the quad for my daughter.......Looked at the Polaris 50 today, Eton 50 today and the Yamaha 50 today and just by fit to my daughter and appearance I did like the Polaris and Yamaha. I think if I was looking to modify the machine for her to race it I would definitely go with the Eton though. I think with her being 4 yrs. old I really need to concentrate on her learning to ride the first 2 years then upgrade the quad. So needless to say I see pros and cons just in my own knowledge between the Yamaha and Polaris. Yamaha's pros: seems to have the better resale value, four stroke, shaft, full floor boards and overall good rep., but cons seem to be; PRICE, no back up kick start and hear that they don't have much get up and go
POLARIS, Cons; 2 stroke, seeing on the forum some bad feed back Pros; Local dealer is excellent to deal with, price and they throw in the helmet, fit my daughter perfect; has backup kickstart
OKAY....... Yamaha or Polaris is what it comes down to.
