Default 2003 suzuki 50 Exhaust Restrictor

Where is this? I found one of them in the intake manifold. I took off the exhaust and and only a gasket is there. The gasket is the same size as the pipe so it could not restrict anything. However, is it in towrads the engine? I can see some sort of metal thing that is about an inch or two in there. Is it the piston or what should I see in there? It may have been removed already. Can someone direct me to a guide maybe with pictures as I am not very mechanically inclined.

Also, where do I get a pipe for this little thing?
I have found paddles for $180..... does anyone know of cheaper ones?

Sounds like your exhaust restrictor is already removed it was between the pipe and the cylinder where you are seeing the gasket, it looked like a washer with a very small hole. What you are seeing is the piston. I don't know about paddle tires, don't think they have enough power to worry about it. Oh yea you can get a pipe and such from ct racing or fmf, I use the ct it has an expansion chamber and makes good power especially with the head mods, the fmf is just a straight pipe like stock with a better silencer.

Thank you so much.... I probably won't pick up the paddles yet, I want to see how it does without them first. Is it hard to install the head? Does it just bolt on? Is there any adjustmants involved?

BTW,

thank you for your comments......

The CT Racing kit is the best $400 you can spend on that bike!!!!

Also remove the piggy back jet from the carb and move the clip down 1 spot on the needle....You will need to do this if both restrictors are removed for it to run good.....

The intake restrictor needs to be heated up and popped out....You can use JB weld to fill in the space where the spacer was to help the fuel to flow better

Also remove the oil injector line....Plug it with a bolt and start using a premix of 32:1 to make it run even better(big help)

The tires are also an issue....We went to recreationtires.com and bought Douglas wheels awith Snow Hog tires and the bike handles a lot better....My boy can now shoot roosts of dirt!!!

I put 18" tires on 5" rims with the offset so it will widen the front stance increasing stability and for the rear 16" tires on 6" wide rims...the smaller tires and wheels say about 10-12lbs I believe....

Once all of there simple mods and $600 worth of upgrades are done you won't even know it is the same quad

Please post as many questions as needed.....We are here to help!!!

I haven't gotten to this point on my LT. Where are you disconnecting the line from and plugging it? Alos what about the clutch? Have you done anything to yours? I have got more top end then I know what to do with but the thing could use a little help starting up hills.

We are all waiting on CT racing to get their performance clutch kit done.....Hopefully soon...The single speed tranny is the death of this machine!!

The auto inject line that goes from the oil container to the side case....I just cut it and plugged it...no worries

The premix will help with any hesitation it has (bottom end help)...I run castor 927, but make sure to drain the carb and tank before switching over...You won't be able to go back once you do...but it runs a lot cleaner and crisper

Losing bottom end power has a lot to do with the jetting....Lose the piggy back jet on the carb...not the main jet, but the little jet next to it....just remove the one that is closest to you...leave the other on in there....this will also help

Make sure to move the clip down 1 notch on the needle(down being closer to the tip of the needle)

Just doing these things will help tremendously.....

YOu can email me at guardianbulldogs@yahoo.com for my phone number in case you need some verbal help...Emails can be tough to understand at times....

Thanx for the tip on the carb... I will take a look when I get home. I will e-mail or post if I am uncertain of what to do with the carb.
Is this something I can acheive without taking the plastic off? As far as plugging the oil injector..... will I be able to tell the power increase? I was trying not to take these off as I want to leave it alone for re-sale value. Does it affect the value or what?

In referance to the power-up kit. Is it hard to install? I can do the pipe but, I am un-certain about the rest.

It is all very easy....As long as you have some basic tools and a little auto know how

The power up kit just requires adding a pipe, K&N Air filter, New head(not cylinder) and new jets for the carb

You may want to get the kit and then go to the local shop and have them install it..... 1 hr labor probably....

They can also remove the intake restrictor as well....

It is all basic stuff and will add value to the Quad.....Their are no internal engine parts changed and CT Racing is a wellknow company

You will be more than surprised with the performance difference....

I am sendingmy boy's cylinder to PR Racing for some port work.....I guess I like banging my head against a wall?? the E-Ton,Kasea and Dinlis are so much easier to get peformance parts for....Guess I'm stubborn!!!

Please feel free to call to make sure you are ready to work on the bike.....You should be able to keep the green plastic on the bike, but the leg guard have to come off...I actuallly cut his floorboards so they are only on the rear fender part and the floorboard...it wa too much of a pain when I was tuning the carb

Now the bike does nice donuts and gets sideways around turns!!!

Please consider the tire change as well...with whell spacers that you can get on Ebay for about $40 a set (2 sets required)...just bolt on to your factory studs +3" total

It may sound like a lot but it is ALL very easy to do.....

You will need to do these mods to get that quad to turn paddles in the sand....no doubt about that
