Like I said...the air restrictor was not installed on the machine I bought. Now if the air temp is cold and the machine hasn't been started in a week or two, it has to have the choke on and the throttle 'feathered' until it warms up. It is very cold natured. But that's a minor problem when you stop and think of the engine itself and how long Honda has been building it. They are tough, bullet proof engines. You can atest to this buy the fact that a lot of the Chinese "clones" have engines built like the Honda.

I have been out in the desert with my girls riding and the climate is exactly the oppisite from yours :-)
My 9 year olds new 06 TRX 90 is totally set up and is unbeleivably fast !!!! I put on the big gun pipe, K&N air filter, removed the snorkle restrictor, Throttle screw, cut the pink wire,and added DG nerfs, front bumper, 8x8 Douglas red labels with 18x10x8 hole shots on the rear and replaced the front rims with douglas 8x6 red labels with the stock tires. .. I am Very happy with the outcome !!! It looks and sounds like a mini TRX450 now and totally rocks !!!! The big gun is not cheap (278.00) but it is the finest craftsmanship of any pipe I have ever owned ! Hopefully, our kids get as excited about it as we all do !!

 

How about some pics, Webone? That sounds like a nice TRX90, I'll likely move my son up to one from his KFX50 next year.

I will get you guys some pics !! My daughters first bike was the little Suzuki LT50 (The same as your KX50) and I added a DG Pipe and uni airfilter and removed the washer on the carb intake.. It totally jammed and sounded like a mini stadium bike.... I bought that and a LT 80 for my other daughter and sold both of them about the same time and actually got a $100.00 more for the 50 !!!! You are in good shape !!!! I did move my 8 year old up to the LT 80 with a DG Pipe and Filter for a short time but could never get it to go very fast!! I sold it and got the TRX 90.... And I could not be happier !!!!

 

I pulled the pink wire out today and what a difference it made. I am 6'1" and about 240 and the TRX pulled me pretty darn good. I can not wait to see what it will do with my daughter on that thing. What would be a good first accessory for it. I was thinking about an exhaust system but not real sure. Thanks for the hell guys.

the 06 exhaust is different. big gun imo is the best mass produced pipe. robbs racing has an excellent race pipe out. check out his website. for the buck i like the pipe,filter, and a smaller head gasket to raise the comp. ratio to about 10.5 to 1. throw in advance timing key (5degree) and get head port and polished and the thing will rip. just remember the faster you make it the more the suspension should be upgraded.

What suspension do you suggest for the TRX ???? And the 06 is different, and BIg Gun does make a pipe for it... And Robbs Racing does have all the trick stuff.... But I am very happy with the Big Gun... Have you done any carb work to the TRX 90 and if so what ????

pro fab dual a-arms with 400ex front disc brakes,dual rate works w/rezzies.
pro fab 3inch extended swing-arm with 300ex disc brakes, works dual rate w/rezzie.
running a 26mm carb off a street bike. got it for the acc. pump. also running a vac. accuated fuel pump.

before all that we had 2inch extended single a-arms from icracing,stock swingarm,stock axle with works shocks all the way around. worked great. this was great on the mx track and awesome through the woods.
