110 quad engine loose in frame!
#1
My never ending problems with my chinese 110 quad has developed a new issue. The quad had a vibration from new some what. Now it's terrible which causes things to rattle loose always!!! I looked it over and the motor mount bolts are tight. But if I grab the engine it will clunk up and down in the frame! I appears there is play in the bolt where they run though the motor mount castings. Looks like the bolts should be a bigger diameter or some bushing spacer should be in there.
Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen on these things. Quad has had about 5 weeks of use only.

If all the bolts are tight and the engine still moves around then there must be a broken mount. Either that or the bolts arent actually tightening down all the way.

NO the mounts are ok still it looks like the rubber bushing is worn out. These bolts are lower grade with no lock nuts on them or loctite which doesn't help the matter.
I took it by my local dealer which is turning out to be only a "sales outlet"!!! He looked at it saw the clunk clunk movement and said well is it causing any problems with the quad!!!! Translation - I don't want to warranty it so get lost ! I told him well the engine vibrates like crazy, will get worse and will end up breaking a mount or engine casting !!! He said to leave it with them but I said forget it. The last time I did that they kept it for a month till I b*tched to fix it or refund my money.
Now if this was some great internet buy shipped to my door in a box etc it wouldn't surprise me to see things like this happening. In my case I paid top dollar to a local company who claimed to PDI it, stock all the parts and service them etc.
I'll fix the thing myself when I have the time. I don't mind working on this stuff its just the point of it all being under a supposed " 6 month warranty".
How do the rear hubs on your quad fit on the axle splines?? Mine were really sloppy right from new I noticed. Its could be a safety issue. I tightened the nut up but it doesn't help much the way its built. This another thing I have to fix cause the dealer says its not a problem.

That is the biggest problem with these chinese quads, the way they are sold. There are a few dealers around trying to take up the slack but for the most part they are handled by short term business owners. These quads come barley put together in the crate and need much more than just raising the handlebars and putting on the wheels. And yes most of the bolts are junk too.
The Yamoto 150's axle splines fit well. But I did have to put a extra washer on each side to get the sleeves to stop rattling.

I couldn't agree more regarding how they just bolt the handle bars and wheels on then sell it. The big 4 do more than that at the dealer before they sell thiers!
I have found another local chinese quad dealer (MFC) that is much more knowledgable about the products. They actually do a PDI and fix problem areas before they sell their stuff. They at least admit there are some "problems" that have to addressed with these quads. I think if need be I can get parts through them.
I'm hearing transport Canada is really cracking down on these fly by night companies importing chinese atv's into Canada as of Jan 1 2006.
