Its kind of hard to tell from the drawing but it does look like its the same drawing I am familiar with.
When you can look at the quad then let me know. If you can describe the CDI connectors I can tell you more
once you are holding it. Hopefully it has the looped green wire off it.

Post again if it does not have the wire otherwise clip it and ride it.

I will take a look when I get some this afternoon and let you know tomorrow. If that fixes it, you will be the man.

Default CDI for '06 AC 90????

If owners of the 90's and 50's could post a pic of their CDI's it would help alot.

Also I can run down all of the limits I know of.

1) CDI -
2) 50 may have a grooved race for the front drive.
It used to require a new boss to replace but maybe they
replaced that with this "new" spacer I heard about here.

3) Rear clucth spacer
There is supposed to be a spacer inside the rear clutch assy.
If that is removed then top speed is now reachable for the motor.

I would love to hear from anyone with a 2006 AC 50 or 90 that has removed or replaced the rear clutch spacer to see if the 2006 models have that as a limiter.

Well considering its the same CVT as the Kymco I would say its there. :-)

Mine was for sure. I will see if I can post the pdf file with the directions for removal.

I checked and the CDI has two connections on the top about an inch apart, one green and one black with a small green stripe on it. Both go about 1 inch and then into a wiring harness (bound together). It seems that I would need both of these connections. What do you think.

Ok accwiz

Looks like its a different CDI then I was expecting. Can you describe the whole unit?
Are there 2 sets of connectors on it? 1 with 4 wires and 1 with 2 wires?

I find it hard to believe they changed the CDI but I will make a call or 2 to check on it.

I am new to ATV engines, so I am assuming I am looking at the CDI Box. I will take a picture if it would help. But it has a wire coming from the bottom going to the spark plug that is approx 1/4" in diameter. It is cylindrical about as big around as a silver dollar and about 2 inches tall. it has two connectors on the top about an inch apart that are push on connectors, one is green and one is black with green strip and the wire is probably 18 guage. they go about an inch seperately and then are wound together with a black casing around them. It looks different from the diagram I sent you, but I cannot find anything that looks like the diagram I sent you. If this is not the CDI Box do you have any clue to where I would look?

I live in Raleigh, NC, but for about 6 months I was in San Bernardino cleaning up the forest fires and I used to go to Pachenga (sp) to lose our money.

I don't like the fact that the engine on the '06 AC 90 has to rev up quite a bit before it begins to pull. Will removing the front and/or rear spacer make it pull just off throttle or is that just typical of CVT transmissions? (My bro-in-law's Kawasaki Prarie has a CVT and doesn't have to rev that much.)

I wasn't sure how to post pics here so I'm sending them directly to badvox. Anyone else who might want to see them please e-mail me.

This is the clutch spacer i was refering to in the drive clutch. Is there a spacer in the rear clutch that is not mentioned?
