Default couple questions on 2003 Eton Viper 50 quad

Hi all,
Just picked up a 2003 Eton viper 50 2 stroke in mint condition. My son is almost 5 and not quite able to drive it himself so until then he rides along with his dad which is me of course.
After reading some post on here I have located the green jumper on the cdi box and cut it and extended the wires under the seat so I can attach it back together when he is old enough to ride himself.
After cutting the rev limiter wire the little 2 stroke has a bunch more power and top end.The problem is it still breaks up almost like its starving for gas.I did notice after I first start it and let it run for about a minute and then take it for a rip she seems to run pretty good, only after warming up will it start to break up.
The quad is bone stock but looks to have a brand new carb on it.The original owner stated that there is no choke on this quad.
Im thinking maybe the carb has to be ajusted since it seems to run better when cold? If so does anyone know which screw is the correct one.Does it have to be re jetted by cutting the green loop for more gas.
Any help would be great.I need to get as much out of this Eton since it will be riding both of us for a while until the little man can ride it himself.
