Kymco Mongoose Owners
#1
Who here has a Kymco Mongoose and what mods have U done or plan on doing?
We own an 05 Mongoose 50 and are really happy with it. So far it is stock, but today I did pick up the new clutch sleeve hub. And I am going to start looking into widening it and finding some tires for flattrack and tt racing.

Hey how are you doing there MeIsCheech
I have 3 mongoose quads. 2 50s and 1 90. Kids and I both love them.
Did you already cut the rev limiter on your 50? Only if the little guy can handle it of course.
Here is some info for you for aftermarket stuff. My son is going to race his 90 this year.
+4 inch rear axle - Mfg DuraBlue uses all OEM sprocket etc..
+2 inch a-arms - Mfg JB Racing, I believe Hetrick has them too.
Good Shocks - Works Performance Shock they have them and they are priced right!!
That will get you wider. Also for a 50 there are already aftermarket 70cc kits
and bigger carbs on the market. Kymco's website has all the info.
For those Kymco 90cc owners you also have Powroll 4 Stroke Performance
specialists making a 120cc bore kit and I believe a hard weld cam for the 90.
The ATVA 90 production class allows for the 4 strokes to go up to 125cc motors.
And believe me the powroll method of getting there is HUGE!!

Thanxs on the info Mike,
I did cut the green loop wire, was guessing that was for the limiter. I didn't notice a very big difference though. I still have to install that clutch sleeve. Then that will be it until it gets some widening. I am hoping to get Jake out for flattrack practice mid Feb. He is only 4 1/2 and don't want to push him so it will be up to him if he goes on the track. They are reall cool toward mini's and will let me be on the track with him.
I started him out on an 84 lt50 and with the Mongoose his riding has improved greatly, plus I also feel even though it is a bigger quad it is alot safer than the old lt.
Thanxs again and I will probably be checking into the axle and arms. I do have a buddy (whats up MB) who knows alot about Kart axles and might see what he recomends.
Here is another pic of Jake showing off
