LT/KFX50 Shocks
#1
My son has made a lot of progress in riding skills, but as I closely supervise him the stock shocks seem pretty bouncy, with very little rebound control and no adjustability. I'm thinking the quad would be a lot more comfortable and safer with a smoother ride. What are the options for upgrading the stock shocks on these models. The stock shocks don't seem like much more than springs, is there really even a shock in the springs? I can't imaging spending $600 for a new Works front and rear set-up. Are there any better quality than stock LT/KFX shocks made for other models that would fit? What about all the XR50 type shocks I see advertised, would those possibly fit the rear of a LT/KFX?

As long as your kid doesn't weigh 150 lbs. or more(doubt it from your description) you should only need about 2 or 3 psi of air in all tires in sand, and only about 3 or 4 psi of air in all tires on all other terrain. Get a gauge for that low of psi(0 - 10) adjust and observe. Its easy to accidently pump them tires up to 7 psi or more and that makes them kids bounce alot! Rule this out before going to shocks so quick. Yes, the shocks are stiff on these things anyway but they aren't that far off.
